Prediction Filter Design for Active Noise Cancellation Headphones

چکیده

Digital active noise control (ANC) for headphones usually has to predict the noise because of the latency of AD-conversion. In adaptive feedback ANC, the prediction is based on the noise that entered the headphone. This noise is low pass filtered due to the physical barrier of the ear cups. In this paper, this low pass characteristic is exploited to define a prediction filter which does not require real-time updates. For broad band noises, the prediction filter performs better than adaptive prediction methods like the least mean squares (LMS) algorithm or iterated one-step predictions.

Active Noise Cancellation using Online Wavelet Based Control System: Numerical and Experimental Study

Reaction wheels (RWs) used for attitude control of space vehicle systems usually encounter with undesired wide band noises. These noises which significantly affect the performance of regulator controller must tune the review or review rate of RWs. According to wide frequency band of noises in RWs the common approaches of noise cancellation cannot conveniently reduce the effects of the noise. Th...

Application of High Order X - LMS Filter for Active Noise Control

In this paper active noise is controlled by using higher order X-LMS (least mean square) filter. This technique is based on X-NLMS (normalized least mean square), also known as traditional acoustic noise cancellation (ANC) scheme. It cancels the wideband noise from the corrupted speech signal. The active noise reducing headphone is probably the most successful application of active control of s...

Analog Active Noise Canceling Headset

Analog systems to achieve active noise cancellation in headphones were designed and implemented. Our project addresses two distinct technqiues feed forward and feedback systems. The work up to mid-semester, which was focused mainly on a feed-forward system with the motivation of developing a clip-on platform for generic earphones, is presented briefly. Limitations of this approach that lead to ...

Inverse structure for active noise control and combined active noise control/sound reproduction systems

In this paper, a simple inverse structure for multichannel active noise control (ANC) is introduced, based on the use of noncausal models of the (pseudo-)inverse plant between the error sensors (typically microphones in ANC systems) and the actuators (typically loudspeakers). This structure, combined with adaptive FIR filters and filtered-x LMS-based algorithms, can produce both a reduction of ...

Adaptive-Filtering-Based Algorithm for Impulsive Noise Cancellation from ECG Signal

Suppression of noise and artifacts is a necessary step in biomedical data processing. Adaptive filtering is known as useful method to overcome this problem. Among various contaminants, there are some situations such as electrical activities of muscles contribute to impulsive noise. This paper deals with modeling real-life muscle noise with α-stable probability distribution and adaptive filterin...
